PB Update 04/27/12
Well folks? Here is the latest and greatest with PB.
We have made several trips to the SCCA (Seattle Cancer Care Alliance). We trek all the way down there, roughly 37 miles from home. Shouldn't take too long right? Well, I wish that were the case. Seattle traffic is horrible. Takes us about an hour each way.
So, we go down there. Check in. They draw blood. We sit. And we wait. And we wait some more.
We go up a few floors to PB's doctors office. We wait some more. We finally get called back to his office. We review the blood draw analysis.
To be told? Not yet. Still need to wait. Liver enzyme levels still too high. We head home. And we rinse and repeat the following week.
Well? Yesterday PB went to SCCA. Check in, blood draw, wait for an hour, see the doctor, blah blah blah.
And guess what???? We are back in business folks! Liver enzyme levels are back to NORMAL range, and he is back on the study drug!
But want to hear the even better news? While PB has been waiting over the last month to get back on? The doctor has a scan done. And...........
THE DRUG IS WORKING!!!!! The cancerous cells are shrinking! Happy happy dance! It has been great over the last 2 months to see an upswing in energy from PB, an increased appetite and just wanting to be more active in general.
This was the first time I was able to meet PB's main doctor, and I really like the man. Plus, he "handles" PB very well! He is knowledgeable, has a nice bedside manner and truly cares about his patients. He has been checking in with PB via phone this past month while he has been off the drug. Above and beyond the call of duty.
So, thank you, my loyal readers. For your well wishes, sweet thoughts and all that finger crossing!
