Hans Zeiger, come on down; cause this birdie is for you!

If you haven't already heard about this idiot, click here to read more.

Of course, since my panties are now in a bunch, I have decided to make it my PERSONAL agenda until this election happens to tell EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO VOTE FOR HIM.

Here is what I sent to his email:

Let me first start off by saying that everyone is entitled to their opinion, thank you to the 1st Amendment. That being said, I am shocked by your lack of filter when speaking publicly about something you obviously know VERY LITTLE about.

I am very proud to be a member of the Girl Scout Organization. Not only was I a girl member, my mother worked for the Girl Scouts here in Washington when I was younger AND now I am the proud leader of MY DAUGHTER’S Girl Scout troop.

As a leader, the one thing I am most proud of, and marvel at all the time, is how much the girls in my troop learn about being a leader, problem solving, budgeting skills, fundraising, community service, goal setting and math and science exploration. Don’t even get me started on what a joy it is to watch them figure out that there is no mountain to high, no task to hard, no goal that can’t be reached…….

It’s ok not to like our cookies Hans. It’s ok not to agree with our organization allowing lesbian women in. It’s ok not to agree with our members being pro-abortion. But guess what Hans? ALL of the women in our organization to have the right to feel how they want, believe in what they want to and support what they want to, just like you.

These girls are incredibly goal oriented, build strong partnerships in their school/home/work life, work extremely hard at what they do, and speaking for my troop of girls, are extremely well rounded members of our community. Talk to any leader and I am sure you will hear sentiments that mimic mine.

If you would like to learn more about Girl Scouts, or you would like to spend some time with these FINE YOUNG WOMEN, please contact me. I would be happy to enlighten you on why we do what we do.

If you would like to send Hans Zeiger a comment and/or observation yourself, please click here. Thanks!

I live in the district Hans Zeiger hopes to represent. We elect two representatives each even numbered year. The Republican incumbent, Bruce Dammeier, has endorsed Zeiger despite Zeiger’s extreme views. (Tacoma News-Tribune, April 16, 2010.)

Zeiger’s attacks against the Girl Scouts only begin to reveal his hatreds. In his book about the Boy Scouts, Get Off My Honor, he says, “Churches fail to speak for manly virtue.” (Page 55.) He denies that Episcopalians are Christians. (World Net Daily June 22, 2006.) He disdains “Unitarians, mainstream Baptists, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, members of the ‘Military Pagan Network’ and other watered-down ecumenists.” (World Net Daily May 6, 2004.)

Zeiger labels the PTA "decadent" (World Net Daily November 13, 2004.) and his public school as the “local government indoctrination center.” (World Net Daily November 13, 2004.) He believes "government is not meant to be in the college-aid business," (Seattle Times May 24, 2003.) which can’t be good news for the University of Washington, Washington State, and the other state supported universities and community colleges where in-state students by definition receive aid in the form of in-state tuition rates.

Zeiger has both disclaimed his writings as youthful and tried to hide them (Tacoma News-Tribune September 2, 2010), but they reveal his core character—both his mind and his heart. They show that Zeiger is entirely too extreme to represent our district.

With Zeiger so clearly out of the mainstream, it is extraordinary that Bruce Dammeier thinks Zeiger would be a worthy colleague. Given what we now know about Zeiger, if Dammeier won’t abandon Zeiger, then he too is unqualified to serve the District and the State.
