Scrap Happy

So this past weekend I went with CHB, Miss Em, Jgurl and few others I know for a scrapbook retreat. Now if you are not a scrapbooker, this will mean little if anything to you. Go ahead, move along! For those of you who are scrappers, you know this means good times!

I woke up BEFORE the alarm went off on Friday morning. Excitement streaming through my veins. I was dressed, packed and out the door 20 minutes ahead of schedule and we were on the road, after a brief stop at Costco, by 10:20 am. We drove for about an hour, arrived, unloaded all our stuff and headed back out to Michael's, Big Lots and to grab a bite to eat.

Every year we drop our gear and make the trek back out to Michael's to stock up on last minute adhesive, and armed with our 40% off coupon, we check out the specials of the week. Then we head to Big Lots. Seriously. One of my favorite stores and I really LOVE to go there with CHB because we find all KINDS of things that we don't need! (not to mention there is not one really close to me)

After we have shopped those two stores to our hearts content, we head back to our "home" for the weekend; slip in to our pajama pants and slippers, and set out to scrap until we can no longer keep our eyes open! The best part of the whole retreat is not having to pack up your stuff at the end of the day. You can leave it out! Also, your bedroom is in the same place, and all the meals are served on site. The place we stay is an old convent, kinda cool actually. The food is awesome, the chit chat is good and much was accomplished on my books. I am always sad to leave because I wanted to get more done, and I loved spending the uninterrupted time with my gal pals.
